Welcome to Sixth Grade Green!

 Dear Parents and Guardians,

Happy Spring!  The sixth grade class is always busy.  Especially now that we are in the third term.  We have a lot of exciting things happening in 6 Green.  For example, in Social Studies, our hydroponics fish project is underway.  The students are excited to grow vegetables, fruit and flowers without soil and just water and fish.  They have been so responsible in feeding their fish and taking care of cleaning the water in their fish bowl.  They are making a book in "book creator" explaining what is hydroponics, the pros and cons, a description of the type of fish they have, and the nutrients needed for their plants to flourish.

In literature we are reading, DISNEY'S version of "A Wrinkle in Time".  The kids are learning all about tessering (traveling to another dimension). There are a lot of vocabulary words in this book that are new.  In order to remember them, we have been playing different games such as concentration, making word searches and crossword puzzles.

We are looking forward to our field trip in May.  Please make sure to sign the permission slip as it is filling up quickly.

In peace,

Mrs. Leni Grossomanides
